Q: How long have you been a photographer for?
A: Been shooting since 2003 but didn't get really into it till a few years later.

Q: When shooting events what equipment do you use?
A: I currently use a Nikon D70's with an 18-70mm Lens. For club events I attach a cord to my hot shoe and the other end to my SB-600 for a little more versatility when lighting my subjects. (learned that from NORTON)

Q: Can you give me any advice when shooting events?
A: Try everything and anything, you never know what might work. When I started shooting fashion show/events I had no clue what to do. One thing I did learn though is to get a flash like the SB-600 for Nikon or similar flashes for other brands. Set it up so those little red lights shoot out of the flash, what that does is shoot a beam of light from your flash to your subject and it will focus your lens very quickly in little to no light situations. That's probably one of the best things I learned and definitely the most useful.

Q: I've never shot a model before and have no clue what to do..HELP!
A: First of all be respectful, new models as well as models with experience will greatly appreciate you if you are. Also remember that they can't read your mind so try explaining what you want them to do and if it isn't working then maybe try showing them. Most importantly don't get frustrated, your model is your friend. Help them and they will help you.

Q: How did you become a photographer?
A: This one I get a lot lol, when I was in high school I actually had no vision of being a photographer, I was into video. I used to make short films with friends as well as film my friends skating. I even made our fist local skate shop video. :) All I wanted to do was make movies, edit them, and someday make it big. Unfortunately skating and filming sometimes collide, my camera got knocked up a few to many times. It was dead. The following Christmas I recieved a little point and shoot digital camera and then it began. All I did was snap away, everything I saw turned into a photo...I was hooked. I later on I ended up taking some classes at City College and learned how to shoot film and develop it. That was a very good experience that I feel a lot of first time photographers should do before you start shooting digital. I shot film pretty much the whole time until I ordered my Nikon DSLR about two years ago and have been shooting digital ever since.

Q: What do you recommend, Nikon or Canon?
A: Ahh yes, the infamous question asked by all first time buyers. (lol I don't actually say that part) Well like I said before, I shoot with a Nikon but I don't believe Nikon or Canon is better then the other. I do know they both have their benefits and Canon's are excellent camera's. The only main reason why I shoot with a Nikon is because that's what I started with, I've used that since the beginning and thought I should stick with it. Also the fact that I can reuse my old lens's with my digital SLR is a plus too.
